The festive season is in full swing at Brewers Quay and plans are now confirmed for the exclusive Victorian Shownight that WILL take place this year. Victorian Shownight , on 10th December, will see Hope Square transformed into a magical celebration of everything festive; where visitors will be able to wine, dine and shop during this exclusive late night shopping extravaganza.
Shoppers will enjoy the evocative sounds of Bavarian Strollers and Victorian Fairground organ, whilst savouring gluwein and bratwurst from Weymouth’s twin town of Holzwickede in Germany. The Christmas market in Hope Square will provide a myriad of gift ideas with a range of food and gift stalls run by local charities. Rides on the miniature steam engine will provide the perfect treat for children after a night of shopping and restaurants in the square will also be open to cater for those wanting to extend the evening.
In Brewers Quay the magical atmosphere of a traditional Christmas will continue with the cobbled streets decked with decorations, tastings in the Village Store, staff in Victorian dress and bell ringers sending out their festive peels over 20 specialist shops bursting with fantastic gift ideas, from gift hampers to collectible glassware. Many of the larger stores will also be offering a 20% discount, including; Global Crafts, Village Store and Harbour Lights. A gift wrapping service will also be available at Quay Moments.
To complete the evening Father Christmas will be in the best fairytale grotto in Weymouth to welcome younger visitors. Entry to the grotto is £2.00, with half of the proceeds going to CLIC (Cancer & Leukaemia in Childhood). Don’t forget that Father Christmas is in residence every Saturday from 28th December and the same charges and donations apply and there will also be live reindeer in Hope Square 6th December.
