West Bay is a picturesque fishing village at the mouth of the River Brid in West Dorset about twenty miles west of Weymouth, just a mile or so from the country town of Bridport. It is at the western extremity of The Chesil Beach on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Make a day of a trip to West Bay from Weymouth by taking the picturesque coast road that runs for much of the journey parallel to the Chesil Beach and offers some spectacular views. En route stop at the village of Abbotsbury where you will find the world famous Abbotsbury Swannery and Sub Tropical Gardens
